Plovdiv Opera brings 'Hair' musical to NDK Hall 1
Plovdiv Opera is returning to Sofia to perform the musical 'Hair' at NDK Hall 1 on October 21 at 19:00. This production, directed by Veselka Kuncheva, follows a successful previous appearance in the capital.
Conducted by Konstantin Dobroykov, the production features a creative team including artist Marieta Golomekhova and choreographer Yavor Kunchev. The performance aims to offer a modern interpretation of the musical, focusing on themes of freedom, love, peace, and human choice, distinguishing itself from traditional film versions through contemporary scenography and an ensemble-driven approach.
The production includes 14 soloists alongside the Plovdiv Opera choir, ballet, and orchestra. Plovdiv Opera Director Dian Chobanov noted the production's anti-war message and its ability to provoke thought through high artistic quality.
