Plovdiv police raid neo-Nazi ‘Blood and Honor’ cell
Bulgarian police and the State Agency for National Security (DANS) conducted a large-scale operation in Plovdiv targeting a local cell of the international neo-Nazi organization ‘Blood and Honor’. The raid focused on a private club used as a gathering place for the group, where authorities discovered Nazi symbols, swastikas, and fascist propaganda materials.
A total of 18 individuals were detained during the operation, including several minors and three women. Following the initial investigation, three men—a 42-year-old tenant, a 39-year-old man, and his 18-year-old son—have been formally charged. The 42-year-old is accused as the primary perpetrator of promoting discrimination, hatred, and violence based on race, nationality, or sexual orientation, while the father and son face charges as accomplices. The 18-year-old was also previously involved in a separate investigation regarding an assault on Nepalese citizens.
Authorities have clarified that while there are acquaintances between the detainees and the youths involved in a recent high-profile murder at Mladezhki Hill, there is currently no direct link established between the neo-Nazi group and the perpetrators of that specific homicide. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated under Article 162 of the Penal Code, with the court recently ordering the detention of the 42-year-old tenant.
