Plovdiv police rescue infant in critical condition

Two police officers from the Sixth District Police Station in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, assisted a family in transporting a critically ill six-month-old infant to the emergency department. The infant, Irena, suffered a severe reaction after consuming food containing an allergen, which caused the child to turn pale and experience declining vital signs.

After calling 112, the parents were informed that an ambulance with a neonatologist could not be dispatched immediately. While attempting to find a taxi on Tsarigradsko Shose Boulevard, the mother, Eva Ruseva, encountered a patrol car. Inspector Galina Marinova and Junior Investigator Radoslav Hristov responded immediately, using their vehicle and sirens to transport the family to the hospital within five minutes.

Medical professionals believe the infant suffered from allergic shock. Doctors also consulted a neurosurgeon to rule out a potential head injury, as the child had also received an accidental blow from an older sibling. The infant has since stabilized and recovered.
