Plovdiv Red Cross and Drama Theatre launch blood donation campaign

The Bulgarian Red Cross Plovdiv and the N. O. Masalitinov Drama Theatre have partnered for a blood donation campaign scheduled for September 29 and 30, 2026. The event will take place in the lower foyer of the theatre from 9:00 to 13:00, with the participation of the Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology.

As an incentive, each donor will receive an invitation for two seats to a performance from the theatre’s October repertoire. This initiative marks the start of the theatre’s 145th season. The campaign follows a successful inaugural edition held last year, which saw significant interest from actors, staff, volunteers, and citizens.

Local health officials noted that such campaigns are vital for replenishing blood supplies following the difficult summer period when donations typically decrease. Tanya Georgieva, Director of the Secretariat of the Plovdiv Regional Red Cross Council, emphasized that the gesture provides a life-saving opportunity for those in need.
