Plovdiv to begin mass autumn acaricide treatment
The municipal enterprise 'Disinfection Station' has announced a mass autumn acaricide treatment schedule for grassy areas across Plovdiv, starting September 1, 2026. The operation aims to control tick populations throughout various city districts.
The treatment schedule covers multiple areas including Central, Trakia, Yuzhen, Zapaden, Iztochen, and Severen districts, as well as school yards, kindergartens, and dog parks. Acaricide applications are scheduled to take place during two daily windows: from 07:00 to 14:30 and from 21:00 to 04:30.
In preparation for the Unification Day ceremony, a specialized mosquito disinfection will also be conducted in the Central district on September 4 starting at 05:00. All treatments will utilize biocides approved by the Ministry of Health. The schedule is subject to change if unfavorable weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, occur.
