Plovdiv to Host Bulgarian State Triathlon Championship in August 2026

Plovdiv will host the Bulgarian State Triathlon Championship (standard distance) on 1‑2 August 2026 at the city’s Rowing Base. The event marks the sixth consecutive year the city has staged the national competition, organized by the Bulgarian Triathlon Association and featuring all nationally represented clubs across six age groups.

The championship will follow the rules of the Bulgarian triathlon calendar and meet World Triathlon standards. It is backed by the Plovdiv Municipality and is expected to promote an active lifestyle while reinforcing Plovdiv’s reputation as a premier venue for major sports events. The city is also an official candidate for the title “European Capital of Sport 2028,” with its bid to be assessed by ACES Europe in November 2026.
