Plovdiv to host large-scale emergency response demonstration
Plovdiv will host a large-scale emergency response demonstration on October 8 at Central Square. The simulation is designed to showcase the coordination between military, medical, fire, and rescue services during a complex crisis.
The scenario includes a series of simulated disasters, such as a major earthquake, building collapses, fires, explosions, and the leakage of a hazardous chemical agent. Participants will demonstrate critical life-saving procedures, including victim triage, rescue operations from rubble, decontamination, and emergency resuscitation.
This practical exercise is part of the National Congress on Emergency Medicine, Disasters and Catastrophes, held in Plovdiv from October 7 to 10. The congress brings together specialists from emergency medical services, hospitals, military medicine, the Bulgarian Red Cross, and the 112 emergency system. The event's scientific program covers various medical and technical topics, including toxicology, cardiology, and new technologies in rescue operations.
