Plovdiv to host literary festival and cultural seminar

Plovdiv will host two major cultural events in late 2026. The ‘Alley of the Book’ will take place from September 28 to October 4 at Central Square. Organized by the Bulgarian Book Association in partnership with the ‘Plovdiv Reads’ festival, the event features book stalls, author meetings, and literary discussions. A highlight includes participation in ‘Night of Literature 2026’ on October 1, focusing on contemporary European literature.

Additionally, the sixth edition of the ‘The Unknowns’ cultural seminar will be held from October 2 to 4. Marking its tenth anniversary, the forum includes a major international scientific conference titled ‘Heritage, Communities, Territories,’ which expects over 90 researchers from 16 countries and four continents. The program features concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, and traditional costume reviews. The seminar is held under the patronage of President Iliana Yotova and involves the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
