Plovdiv unveils new Dramatic Theatre logo and launches first Hills Festival
The Dramatic Theatre in Plovdiv introduced a redesigned visual identity, keeping historic symbols such as the city gate, the theatrical curtain and the griffon guardian, and adding the founding year “1881”. The new logo was created together with Studio Punkt and is based on the original emblem by artist Ganche Ganev, simplified for clearer use in digital and print media.
Plovdiv will host its inaugural "Festival of the Hills" on 26‑27 September 2026, uniting the city’s seven iconic hills in a two‑day cultural programme. Organized by the Central district, the municipality and the tourism council, the event invites artists, sport clubs, schools, NGOs and local businesses to present projects on each hill’s theme – history and archaeology on the Old Town hill, nature and sustainability on Sahat Tepe, music and visual arts on Bunardzhika, and sports and youth activities on Dzhendem Tepe. Applications close 21 August, and the festival aims to activate public spaces, showcase Plovdiv’s heritage and create a lasting cultural tradition.
