Plovdiv water main burst affects Old Town supply

A major water main burst near the Ponedelnik market in Plovdiv has caused water to erupt from beneath the pavement. The damage to the main pipeline affects the water supply to the city's Old Town.

According to ViK-Plovdiv, the incident occurred shortly after crews had repaired a separate building connection issue on Knyaz Tsaretelev Street earlier in the day. Repair teams have been redeployed to address the primary pipeline failure. The water company aims to restore supply by the end of the day, though a specific timeline remains uncertain.

In addition to the main burst, a failure at the 'Yug' pumping station has caused partial water supply disruptions across the city. Other scheduled maintenance and repairs are also affecting service in the Trakiya residential complex and on Legia and Petiofi streets.
