Plovdiv's Ancient Theatre to host major musical performances

The Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv is set to host a series of major musical performances. On September 18, Tarja Turunen will perform ‘The World of Dreams’ accompanied by the Plovdiv Opera orchestra and choir, marking her first concert in the country using this specific piano and orchestral format.

On September 19, the Greek symphonic metal band Septicflesh will present ‘Ancient Whispers’. The event has drawn international interest, with ticket sales recorded from 46 different countries. The band's frontman, Seth, has designed a limited-edition commemorative T-shirt available exclusively at the venue.

Additionally, folk singer Ilka Aleksandrova will celebrate her 50-year career with a jubilee concert-spectacle titled ‘Tarnovska Tsaritsa and the Secret Song’. The performance will feature the premiere of a new work based on two years of archival research into Bulgarian history, performed alongside ‘Ilka Aleksandrova and the Soloists of Thrace’.
