Plovdiv's Singing Fountains start 'Discover Plovdiv' series in August
The singing fountains in Plovdiv’s City Garden will present a new open‑air film series called “Discover Plovdiv” each Saturday at 21:30 throughout August. Ten short documentaries (5‑7 minutes each) showcase the city’s most significant historical, architectural and cultural sites, including the Ancient Theatre, Old Town houses, Kapana quarter, Ancient Stadium, Ancient Forum, the basilicas and the former Tobacco City. The schedule runs on 1 August (Czar‑Simeon Garden and Old Town), 8 August (Ancient Theatre and hills), 15 August (Roman stadium and Kapana), 22 August (Ancient Forum and Plovdiv as capital of Eastern Rumelia) and 29 August (Basilicas and Tobacco City).
The series was produced by the BNT Plovdiv team to mark the television centre’s 50th anniversary and is financed by Plovdiv Municipality. Authors include journalists Dimitar Dimitrov, Kamen Kolakov, Zlatka Dalcheva and Vladislav Sevov; the programmes alternate with the classic music‑light fountain show. Admission is free.
