PLRA prioritizes violence prevention and institutional candidate selection

The Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA) in Paraguay has declared the prevention and eradication of violence against women as a priority. Following a rise in femicide cases and attempted violence, the party plans to conduct training sessions across all its national committees to uphold Law 5777/2016 regarding the integral protection of women.

Separately, PLRA President Alcides Riveros addressed the party's internal processes regarding future political candidacies. Riveros emphasized that the selection of candidates for 2028 will follow established institutional methodologies and dialogue within the opposition, rather than through arbitrary appointments. He called for political maturity to avoid internal friction and emphasized the importance of maintaining party institutionalism.
