Plătărești launches ‘ABC of Emotions’ preschool program

The ‘ABC of Emotions’ project has launched in the Plătărești commune of Călărași, Romania, to support the socio-emotional development of preschool children. The initiative targets 78 children aged 3 to 6 across four kindergartens: Plătărești, Podul Pitarului, Dorobanțu, and Renașterea.

Implemented by EduAct and funded by the OMV Petrom Foundation through its ‘Azi. Împreună.’ fund, the project runs from September 2026 to November 2027. The program aims to build a foundation for a smoother transition to primary school by helping children learn to express feelings, cooperate, and build trust. The intervention includes specialized psychological workshops for children, as well as support for parents and educators focusing on emotional connection and non-violent communication.
