Plužine: Submerged ruins emerge from Pivsko Lake due to drought

Due to a severe drought, water levels in Pivsko Lake have receded by approximately 30 vertical meters, revealing the remains of homes and structures that were submerged over 50 years ago.

When the dam was constructed to create the lake, more than 80 houses and surrounding properties were flooded, displacing entire communities. The receding waters have exposed remnants of former households, mills, and paths that once served the local population. Local chronicler Mirko Vuković noted that the dry conditions have uncovered traces of a life that was lost when the settlement was submerged to facilitate the lake's creation.
