Plum Industry Initiatives Link Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia

Fruit growers in Serbia’s Kragujevac region have created the association “Destilati za destilerije,” uniting 43 producers to modernise fruit‑brand​y production, improve quality standards and market their products to registered distilleries. The initiative is backed by the Regional Agency for Economic Development of Šumadija and Pomoravlje (REDASP) and builds on previous support funds for equipment, technical consulting and business planning.

At the International Plum Fair in Gradačac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, officials announced the “Put šljive” (Plum Route) project, a regional tourism and agricultural corridor that will connect key plum‑growing areas in Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia. A memorandum of cooperation between the three countries’ ministries of agriculture was signed, outlining joint promotion of rural tourism, gastronomy, cultural heritage and easier access to EU funding.
