Plungė Municipality plans investments for public buildings

The Plungė District Municipality is preparing to submit funding applications to the Ministry of Environment for the renovation of three public buildings. The targeted sites include the Plungė Mykolas Oginskis Art School, the Saulutė nursery-kindergarten, and the Žemaitija Kalvarija cultural center.

The municipality aims to secure support through the Environmental Projects Management Agency. If successful, the projects would focus on increasing energy efficiency, such as heating, window and door replacement, and lighting upgrades. The municipality intends to cover at least 50 percent of the project costs, as required by the funding terms.

Separately, the municipality continues its annual tradition of the “Light of Memory” initiative. In collaboration with the company UAB Amžinas rojus, local youth gathered to clean neglected graves in the old Plungė cemetery and light candles to honor the deceased.
