Plus500 raises outlook and acquires US broker Hedge Capital Markets

Plus500 has conditionally agreed to acquire Hedge Capital Markets Inc., a US broker-dealer registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The acquisition, funded by the FTSE 250 group’s existing cash reserves, provides the company with direct access to the SEC-regulated US retail securities market, including equities and ETFs.

The company plans to launch a unified US multi-asset ‘super-app’ in Q1 2027, which will consolidate futures, prediction markets, stocks, options, and ETFs into a single platform. This follows Plus500’s existing CFTC-regulated US business focused on derivatives.

In tandem with this strategic move, Plus500 has upgraded its full-year sales and earnings outlook following strong third-quarter performance. The company reported an 11% revenue increase to $203.2 million and a 7% rise in underlying earnings to $88.4 million for the quarter ending September 30. New customer numbers grew by 27% year-on-year, with 28,747 new customers added during the period.
