Plus500 to acquire Brazilian broker-dealer Guru
Plus500 has conditionally agreed to acquire full ownership of Guru Corretora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários, a regulated broker-dealer in Brazil. The acquisition is intended to accelerate the fintech group's expansion in Latin America.
By acquiring Guru, Plus500 secures direct regulatory licenses from the Central Bank of Brazil and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil. This framework will enable the company to offer a broader range of products to local customers, including Brazilian stocks, futures, options, and fixed income securities.
The transaction will be funded entirely from Plus500's existing cash resources, which were reported at over $860 million as of June 30, 2026. This deal follows closely on the heels of Plus500's recent acquisition of the US-based broker-dealer Hedge.
Plus500 plans to integrate Guru with its existing B2B partnership with Nelogica, a Brazilian trading software provider, to offer local customers access to US derivatives markets alongside domestic products.
