Plus500 to acquire Hedge Capital Markets for US expansion
Plus500 has conditionally agreed to acquire Hedge Capital Markets Inc., a move that facilitates the fintech group’s entry into the SEC-regulated segment of the United States market. Founded in 2021, Hedge Capital Markets is a registered broker-dealer with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).
The acquisition is intended to strengthen the foundations for Plus500’s planned launch of a US ‘super-app’ in the first quarter of 2027. By integrating Hedge’s capabilities, Plus500 aims to expand its US product suite to include stocks, options, ETFs, and other exchange-listed securities alongside its existing futures and prediction market services.
The transaction will be funded entirely through Plus500’s existing cash resources. The closing remains subject to customary conditions, including the expiration of required notice periods and approval by FINRA.
