Plutarch wins Bourbon Flight Stakes at Churchill Downs

Plutarch, a three-year-old colt trained by Bob Baffert and owned by Coolmore, won the $300,000 Bourbon Flight Stakes at Churchill Downs on Saturday. This victory marked the horse's first start in nearly eight months following a period of inactivity due to injury.

Jockey Francisco Arrieta positioned Plutarch fifth in a six-horse field during the backstretch. The Into Mischief colt made a decisive move in the second turn, finding space between competitors to take the lead at the eighth pole. Plutarch finished with a 6 1/2-length margin, recording a winning time of approximately 1:41.79 on the fast main track.

Local Knowledge, ridden by Jaime Torres for trainer Todd Pletcher, finished second. Stimulate, trained by Bill Mott and ridden by Luis Sáez, took third place. This win represents Plutarch's third consecutive victory, following previous wins in a maiden race at Del Mar and the Robert B. Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita.
