Pluvara introduces decentralized rainwater harvesting system

Pluvara has developed a technical solution for the decentralized storage of rainwater that functions independently of roof surfaces or sealed areas. The system utilizes a large-scale collection funnel to capture precipitation and direct it into an attached IBC container.

Designed for locations lacking water connections, the system can be flexibly deployed to irrigate urban trees, green spaces, school gardens, and agricultural areas. It requires neither electricity nor a water connection. Initial pilot projects are currently underway in the city and district of Gießen, Germany, focusing on the supply of young trees and school gardens.

The technology aims to reduce the logistical burden and water consumption faced by municipalities during dry periods, where manual irrigation of newly planted trees often requires significant personnel and transport efforts. Future developments may include combining the storage with water-saving irrigation solutions to target plant roots directly and implementing semi-automatic operations.
