Plzeň's Historic Hotel Škoda Begins 200‑Million CZK Reconstruction
Preparatory work has started on the former Hotel Škoda in Plzeň's South District. The 200 million CZK project, led by Miras Group, will demolish interior fittings and the building’s outer shell before rebuilding it as a modern four‑star hotel with 200 beds, slated to open by mid‑2028 under a global hotel chain. Pavel Zolotarev of Miras said, “In May the occupants will leave and demolition of remaining furniture will begin.” The redevelopment also coincides with the construction of the nearby high‑rise Sisters towers, which will become the third‑tallest residential building in the Czech Republic.
The redesign aims to restore the former city‑center landmark, originally one of three well‑known hotels in Plzeň during the previous regime, and to integrate it into a new mixed‑use complex featuring poly‑functional homes.
