Plzeň police arrest man for mobile phone robbery and assault
A 29-year-old man has been placed in custody following a robbery in Plzeň. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 18, in Bezručova Street, when the suspect forcibly snatched a mobile phone from a woman's hand and struck her while fleeing.
Police utilized city surveillance cameras and local knowledge to track the suspect, who was eventually intercepted by municipal police officers in the city center. Investigations by the foreign police department revealed that the individual is a foreign national listed as an undesirable person with a prior judicial deportation order from the Czech Republic.
The suspect has been charged with aggravated robbery and rioting. Authorities noted that he has previous convictions for rioting and is being investigated for other property crimes.
