Plzeň police respond to cable fire and medical emergency
Two separate incidents involving emergency responses were reported by the Municipal Police in Plzeň.
In one instance, a 37-year-old man attempted to burn a bag of cables in Tleskačova Street. Although the man claimed to have extinguished the fire, municipal officers discovered that the cables were still smoldering. The man was instructed to use rainwater from a nearby barrel to fully douse the embers. The matter has been referred to the Plzeň City Municipality's environmental department and the Fire Rescue Service of the Plzeň Region for further action.
In a separate event, a 29-year-old man collapsed in an underpass near Paluba Hamburk. A passerby initiated indirect cardiac massage before municipal officers and a paramedic arrived on the scene. Following resuscitation efforts, the man regained consciousness and was transported to a hospital. A subsequent drug test conducted by officers returned a positive result for intoxicants.
