Plzeň Region: 83-year-old driver caught despite bans until 2029

An 83-year-old man was caught driving in the Plzeň Region despite having two active driving bans. One ban, imposed by a court, lasts until February 2027, while a second ban from the Plzeň City Hall extends until June 2029.

Police intercepted the vehicle in the village of Líně during the early morning hours. Upon inspection, officers discovered the vehicle lacked a valid technical inspection, which had expired in June. While the driver tested negative for alcohol, he refused both a drug test and a subsequent medical examination involving biological material. The man is suspected of obstructing the execution of an official decision and faces up to two years in prison.
