Plzeň Region hosts vintage car rallies and municipal festivals

Various cultural events and festivals took place in the Plzeň Region over the weekend. In the Plzeň area, the 11th annual vintage vehicle rally featured cars produced in socialist Czechoslovakia between 1948 and 1989. Organized by the Veteran Car Club Plzeň, the event included a 100-kilometer route through locations such as Přeštice and concluded at Žinkovy Castle. Notable vehicles included various Škoda and Trabant models, a Tatra 148 truck, and a unique Škoda 706 RTO bus converted into a sailboat transporter.

Simultaneously, the city of Tachov hosted its municipal celebrations, attracting thousands of visitors. The festivities included a large historical parade led by brass music and city representatives in period costumes, featuring Paralympic swimmer David Kratochvíl. The program offered musical performances, castle tours, and a medieval camp, alongside displays of vintage automobiles and RC models near the local castle.
