Plzeň Region wind energy zones approved as Mochovce 4 reaches critical state

In the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic, the government has approved six acceleration zones for wind energy development. These zones, which include two areas in the Rokycany district (Vrabčiny u Mlečic and Bílá Skála u Terešova), cover approximately 27 square kilometers. Under this accelerated procedure, permits can be obtained within a year. Officials estimate that over 50 large wind turbines, each approximately 250 meters tall with a capacity of around five megawatts, could be constructed across the region.

In Slovakia, the fourth unit of the Mochovce nuclear power plant has reached a critical state. The VVER-440 type reactor has achieved its minimum controlled power level and is now undergoing various power-level tests. Once operational, the unit's 471 MW gross capacity will increase Slovakia's share of nuclear energy in its national power mix.
