Plzeň Regional Court: Defendant denies attempted rape of teenager

A 23-year-old man, Maxim K., has denied guilt at the Plzeň Regional Court regarding an attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in Klatovy. The incident occurred on April 23 last year in Plánická Street.

According to the prosecution, the defendant approached the victim wearing a black plastic mask and attempted to sexually assault her by pinning her against a concrete fence. The victim managed to resist and strike the attacker, causing his mask to fall off, but the assault continued until a bystander, a Slovak man named Juraj, intervened and subdued the attacker.

The defendant, who was under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time and was already on probation for a previous violent offense involving a Ukrainian national, claimed in court that he only intended to talk to the girl. The victim, who suffers from a serious illness, has since been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
