Plzeň tram track repairs to include new green spaces

In Plzeň, final repairs to the tram tracks on Skvrňanská Street are scheduled to take place from October 24 to November 1, 2026. The project includes the installation of an extensive green carpet to improve the area's appearance and reduce noise from tram operations. The work will cover approximately 8,000 square meters of new green space, including 5,000 square meters of sedum directly within the track bed and 3,000 square meters of grassy areas around the tracks.

Due to these works, tram line 2 will operate on a shortened route between Světovar and Jízdecká. Replacement bus service 2A will serve the bypassed section between Skvrňany, U Synagogy, and Jízdecká. Passengers transferring between the tram and the replacement bus do not need to purchase a new ticket; the original ticket remains valid upon revalidation at the opposite end of the route.
