PM Modi Calls for Coordinated Action on Youth, Agriculture and Sports in Viksit Bharat Push
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high‑level meeting with senior secretaries at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, to review progress in rural development, agriculture, and social welfare programmes linked to the government’s Viksit Bharat agenda. He urged ministries to place citizen welfare at the centre of reforms and to improve inter‑departmental coordination.
Modi highlighted the need to address youth drug abuse through an institutional framework, and stressed that young people should form the base of the Viksit Bharat plan. He also promoted sports development and tourism, proposing that India aim to host major international events and become a global sports hub. The discussion included the role of technology and startups in sports, as well as the PM‑KUSUM scheme to expand solar energy use on farms and an exercise to map global skill requirements.
The Prime Minister called for an integrated approach across ministries to accelerate the country’s transformation into a developed nation.
