PM Narendra Modi to Distribute Rs 2,400 crore in Job Incentives under Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana

On Friday, June 19, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a programme at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi to distribute incentives worth around Rs 2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM‑VBRY). The scheme, launched in August 2025 with a total outlay of Rs 99,446 crore, aims to create more than 3.5 crore jobs over two years and has already facilitated roughly 15 lakh employment opportunities.

Under the programme, first‑time employees can receive up to Rs 15,000 as financial support, while employers can claim up to Rs 3,000 per month for each additional worker they hire. Incentives for manufacturing employers extend for four years, and for other sectors for two years. The government targets about 1.92 crore first‑time entrants to the formal workforce, seeking to expand social‑security coverage and boost youth employment.

Modi posted on X: “At 5 PM today, will attend a programme where incentives worth around Rs 2400 crore will be distributed … this is part of our efforts to empower our Yuva Shakti.” The disbursement marks a major milestone in the implementation of the flagship employment‑linked incentive scheme.
