PM Surya Ghar Yojana reduces electricity bills in Sheikhpura

The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is providing significant economic relief to families in the Sheikhpura district of Bihar. Under this central government initiative, residents can receive a subsidy of up to 78,000 rupees to install solar panels on their rooftops.

Beneficiaries of the scheme report that they can access up to 300 units of free electricity per month, which has drastically reduced or eliminated their monthly electricity bills. Local residents noted that the ability to use appliances like fans, coolers, and air conditioners without financial concern has improved their quality of life.

District Magistrate Shekhar Anand stated that the local administration is actively assisting residents through every stage of the process, including planning, securing loans, and coordinating with the electricity department. He encouraged more residents to utilize the scheme to reduce their dependence on the traditional power grid.
