Brazil: Multiple violent incidents reported in Minas Gerais and Distrito Federal

Several violent incidents have been reported across Brazil. In Sobradinho, Distrito Federal, an 18-year-old woman was shot and killed inside a residence. Police are investigating whether the fatal shot was intentional or accidental. The incident occurred after a group of adolescents reportedly began handling firearms. Investigators seized four weapons from the home of one suspect, whose father is a licensed collector, shooter, and hunter (CAC). The teenager reportedly had access to the safe where the weapons were stored.

In Minas Gerais, a 19-year-old man was shot and killed by two individuals on a motorcycle in Divinópolis. Local authorities noted that the victim had allegedly received death threats in the days prior to the attack. Additionally, in the rural area of Orizânia, a resident was injured during a home invasion but managed to react to the robbery, resulting in the death of one of the intruders.

In Goiás, a major of the Distrito Federal Military Police (PMDF) is accused of assaulting his 40-year-old partner at a hotel in Caldas Novas. The victim reported being struck in the face and body following a disagreement. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived. The PMDF has stated it will initiate administrative procedures once officially notified of the case.
