PMW Winabumi to build RM50.25 million factory in Tanjung Manis

PMW Winabumi (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd has broken ground on a RM50.25 million spun pile and pole factory in Tanjung Manis, Sarawak. The facility, situated on a 29-acre site along the Rajang River, will manufacture prestressed concrete products to support infrastructure, construction, and utility projects.

Operations are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with the factory expected to reach full production capacity by early 2028. The plant aims for a monthly production capacity of 10,683 tonnes.

Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan noted that the investment demonstrates private sector confidence in the state's downstream industries. The project is expected to boost the local economy by creating jobs and providing opportunities for local businesses, with a target of sourcing over 50 percent of raw materials from local suppliers.
