PNG Chiefs to unveil official logo and inaugural jersey

The PNG Chiefs rugby league franchise is set to unveil its official logo and inaugural playing jersey in Port Moresby next month. The logo launch is scheduled for October 21, with the jersey reveal following on October 22.

Developed in consultation with Papua New Guinean design experts, the new emblem is intended to reflect the nation's culture and the club's identity as it prepares for entry into the NRL in 2028. Chief Executive Officer Lorna McPherson described the event as a ‘watershed moment’ and a ‘remarkable occasion of celebration’ for both the club and the country.

The club stated that the playing kit was crafted by local talent, with specific attention paid to ensuring pricing and availability allow all Papua New Guineans to access the merchandise.
