PNJ family members face major share liquidations and sales

Tran Phuong Ngoc Giao, daughter of PNJ Chairperson Cao Thi Ngoc Dung, had 2.94 million shares of Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) forcibly liquidated by VNDIRECT Securities on October 8, 2026. Following this transaction, her ownership in the company decreased from 2.86% to 2.29%.

This liquidation is part of a broader trend of divestment by the Chairperson's family members. Between September 11 and October 8, 2026, three daughters and the brother of the Chairperson sold or were subject to forced liquidation of a combined 36.94 million shares, representing approximately 7.2% of outstanding stock. Specific transactions include the sale of 7 million shares by Vice Chairwoman Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao and 18 million shares by Tran Phuong Ngoc Ha.

These sell-offs occurred during a period of significant stock price decline for PNJ. While the stock saw a recovery on October 9, closing at 19,500 VND per share, its market capitalization has dropped significantly compared to earlier in the year.
