The Romanian Parliament has voted to invest the new government led by independent Prime Minister Luca Niculescu, ending a five-month political crisis. The cabinet received 280 votes in favor and 58 against, surpassing the required 233-vote threshold.

The new administration is composed of 18 ministers, including members from the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and various independent experts. Key appointments include Marian Neacșu as Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs. The government aims to prioritize improving living standards, implementing budget rectifications, and ensuring energy security for the upcoming winter.

While the government will be supported in Parliament by the PNL and UDMR parties, these groups will not hold ministerial positions. The UDMR has conditioned its support on the protection of minority rights and funding for Hungarian-language education and culture. Conversely, the far-right AUR party opposed the investiture, labeling the new cabinet a "puppet government."
