PNL to vote for elimination of special pensions for local officials

The National Liberal Party (PNL) parliamentary group has announced its intention to vote in favor of eliminating special pensions for local and county officials. The legislative initiative, currently under parliamentary procedure in the Chamber of Deputies, aims to repeal provisions that allow these specific indemnities.

PNL representatives stated that the measure is a necessary step toward removing inequities within the public pension system and establishing a framework based on equal rules for all citizens. The party emphasized that the move supports the principle of contributivity, reduces financial pressure on the state budget, and contributes to a more equitable state.

Additionally, the PNL has decided to appoint representatives to a working group focused on reducing the number of parliamentarians and will support the urgent adoption of related legislation.
