PNV leader claims party is the sole barrier to Vox governance
Aitor Esteban, president of the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV), has asserted that his party is the only political entity that has effectively prevented Vox from governing Spain through its legislative actions. Speaking in Bilbao during the presentation of candidates for the upcoming general elections, Esteban argued that while many claim to oppose the far-right, the PNV has demonstrated this rejection through practical voting records.
Esteban also criticized the current Spanish coalition government, stating that the legislature has lost its purpose and is merely governing to resist rather than to achieve meaningful objectives. He noted that the PNV has fulfilled more than 75% of its investiture agreement with the PSOE, citing progress in negotiations regarding Basque national recognition and advancements in security measures related to recidivism and property occupation.
