Poblado de Los Hurones seeks operator for new rural tourism complex

The Junta de Andalucía has launched a public tender to manage and operate the historic Poblado de Los Hurones, aiming to transform the site into a comprehensive rural tourism complex. Located within the Los Alcornocales Natural Park in the municipality of San José del Valle, the project follows a public investment of nearly five million euros used to rehabilitate the enclave.

The tender includes the concession of various infrastructures, such as housing, a hostel, a swimming pool, sports courts, a school, and a canteen. The selected operator will be responsible for providing accommodation, catering, and nature-based recreational activities, as well as managing maintenance, security, and visitor services.

The rehabilitation works have restored 38 dwellings and updated essential services, including water, sanitation, and telephony, while preserving the site's mid-20th-century character. The application period for candidates is scheduled to close on December 25, with the managing company expected to be announced next year.
