Płock secures EU funding for foster care support program

The city of Płock has secured European Union funding for the ‘FamilyUp!’ project, a program designed to support foster families and their wards. The initiative aims to enhance the professional development of the foster care system.

The project will provide specialized training for at least 52 foster caregivers from a minimum of 40 families. Topics include raising children with disabilities, managing ADHD, supporting children with FAS, and building relationships with teenagers and biological families.

Additionally, the program focuses on preparing at least 15 young people leaving foster care for independent life through vocational counseling, skills training, and the opportunity for eight participants to obtain a category B driver’s license. The city also plans a social campaign to promote foster parenting and recruit new candidates for professional foster families.
