Pocketpair discusses the future of Palworld and endgame development
Pocketpair is planning the future of its hit title Palworld, focusing on meaningful expansions and diverse player experiences. John “Bucky” Buckley, the studio’s Head of Publishing and Communications, stated that the company aims to expand the game's intellectual property without expanding simply for the sake of size.
Regarding endgame content, Buckley emphasized the need to provide meaningful challenges for long-term players without forcing a combat-centric playstyle. The studio intends to preserve the freedom that allows players to focus on building, exploration, and collecting Pals.
Pocketpair also clarified its approach to content updates, noting that they do not view Palworld as a traditional “live service” game and do not intend to follow a fixed seasonal cadence. Furthermore, the studio intends that any new Pals added to the roster must offer distinct qualities rather than just increasing the creature count.
