Pocketpair expresses interest in releasing Palworld on Nintendo Switch 2

Pocketpair CEO Takuru Mizobe has expressed strong interest in bringing the survival game Palworld to the Nintendo Switch 2. In an interview with VGC, Mizobe praised the upcoming platform as an “amazing” and “incredible” system, particularly for the Japanese gaming industry, noting that the studio would welcome discussions regarding a potential release.

This interest follows previous statements from Pocketpair leadership suggesting that while the original Nintendo Switch lacked the technical specifications to run the demanding game, the Switch 2 could potentially handle it.

However, any such collaboration remains uncertain due to ongoing litigation in Japan. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are currently suing Pocketpair for patent infringement. While Pocketpair has implemented updates—such as patch v0.3.11, which removed the mechanic of throwing spheres to summon creatures—to address some of the disputed mechanics, the legal battle continues. The Tokyo District Court is expected to issue a preliminary assessment of the case on November 9.
