POCO F9 Series to launch globally on September 1
POCO has officially confirmed the global launch of its new flagship smartphone lineup, the POCO F9 series, scheduled for September 1, 2026. The series will feature two primary models: the POCO F9 Pro and the high-end POCO F9 Ultra.
Both devices are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The POCO F9 Pro will specifically utilize a V-series variant of the chip, which features a slightly smaller GPU compared to the standard version used in the Ultra model. The devices will support up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Key hardware differences include display size and battery capacity. The POCO F9 Pro is expected to feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate and a 6,330mAh battery. The POCO F9 Ultra will offer a larger 6.85-inch to 6.9-inch AMOLED panel, also with a 185Hz refresh rate, and a significantly larger 8,050mAh battery.
Camera capabilities also vary between the models. Both are rumored to feature 200MP main sensors with OIS. The Ultra model is expected to include more advanced telephoto capabilities, such as a 5x periscope zoom, while the Pro model may offer a 3x telephoto lens. Both handsets are expected to include Bose-tuned audio systems and high IP68/IP69 durability ratings.
