Podcast industry evolves through videocasts and multi-platform content

The podcast landscape is undergoing a significant transformation as the medium evolves beyond traditional audio into a multi-platform digital ecosystem. Content creators are increasingly utilizing videocasts, short-form clips, and social media snippets to capture attention and expand their reach.

In Brazil, digital consumption is widespread, with IBGE data indicating that 90.5% of the population aged 10 and older used the internet in 2025. Among these users, 89.3% use the internet to watch videos, while 83.7% use it to listen to music, radio, or podcasts. This shift allows a single long-form recording to serve as 'hero content' that can be redistributed into dozens of smaller touchpoints across various platforms.

Beyond technology and distribution, trust remains a central asset for the medium. According to the Podcast Study 2026, which surveyed 1,205 consumers, 82% of listeners consider the host to be a primary reason for following a specific podcast. The long-form nature of the medium allows listeners to connect with a host's reasoning and personality in a way that short-form social media content often cannot.
