Podcast rankings in Portugal show Observador and Renascença leadership

According to Marktest's Pod_Scope data for September, the Portuguese podcast market shows distinct leaders across different metrics. Observador led in total weekly listeners, reaching 288,152, and in total downloads with over 2.5 million. This marks the sixth month in 2026 that Observador has held the top position.

In terms of individual program performance, Renascença's “Extremamente Desagradável,” hosted by Joana Marques, led the rankings with approximately 1.6 million downloads and an average of 190,867 weekly listeners. This program maintained a significant lead over Rádio Comercial's “O Homem que Mordeu o Cão,” which secured second place with 864,568 downloads.

The top rankings also featured “Expresso da Manhã” from Expresso in third place, followed closely by SIC Notícias' “Contas-Poupança.” Other notable entries in the top ten include “Programa cujo nome estamos legalmente impedidos de dizer” (SIC Notícias) and Observador's “A História do Dia,” which ranked seventh.
