Aerodrom Podgorica has increased technical and personnel resources to restore order at its commercial parking lot following a series of illegal activities. Aerodromi Crne Gore (ACG) reports that uncontracted taxi drivers and rent-a-car agencies have been damaging airport property, including breaking ramps, removing bollards, and destroying greenery, in an attempt to evade parking fees.

The situation escalated during the summer season, culminating in an incident where a rent-a-car driver used a vehicle to assault an airport employee, who required medical treatment. ACG officials stated they suspect organized groups have been conducting these illegal activities for years.

In response, a joint operation involving the Police Administration, Labor Inspection, Tax Administration, Road Traffic Inspection, and the Institute of Metrology was conducted. This enforcement action resulted in 51 measures and fines totaling more than 10,000 euros. To prevent further abuse, the airport has installed double exit ramps and is currently updating its parking payment and recording software.
