Podgorica cemetery columbarium to be completed by November

A new columbarium at the Ćemovsko polje cemetery is expected to be completed by the end of November, with services likely becoming available to citizens starting in early 2025. Radonja Vulikić, director of Pogrebne usluge, stated that the facility will feature 245 niches for the storage of urns.

Over 350,000 euros have been allocated from internal funds for the construction of the columbarium and the surrounding park areas. Additional infrastructure projects at the cemetery are also underway, including the construction of a six-place mortuary-style chamber, the installation of fencing, and the paving of roads. The roadwork is scheduled for completion by December 20, with approximately 400,000 euros allocated from the capital city's budget.

Vulikić noted that the columbarium is a new type of service for the area. Pricing for the service will be determined once construction is fully finalized.
