Podgorica court postpones murder trial following legal disputes

The trial in Podgorica for the murder of Miodrag Kruščić and the wounding of journalist Olivera Lakić has been postponed to September 22 following procedural disruptions.

Defendant Mario Milošević revoked his power of attorney for attorney Miloš Vuksanović, citing solidarity with detainees on hunger strike in the Spuž investigation prison. Milošević also expressed dissatisfaction with how Sky communications and forensic evidence are being interpreted by the court. The judge, Radovan Vlaović, stated that a public defender will be appointed for Milošević for the next hearing.

Further complications arose when attorney Anđela Petričić requested to be released from her duties as court-appointed counsel for defendant Goran Rakočević, claiming a lack of necessary communication and cooperation. The court rejected this request. Rakočević subsequently expressed his refusal to be represented by Petričić, alleging that the judicial council is biased against the defendants and failing to record proceedings accurately.
